The Minister responsible for works and engineering, in exercise of the power conferred by section 7(2A) of the Road Traffic Act 1947, makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Bermuda Bicycle Presidents Cup Bicycle Road Race) (Variation of Speed Limits) Order 2023.
2. This Order applies to the contestants and to the vehicles attendant on the contestants in the Bermuda Bicycle Association Presidents Cup Bicycle Road Race on Ministry of Public Works roads to be held on Sunday, 17th December 2023.
3. The speed limits fixed by section 7(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Act 1947 are hereby varied to the extent specified in the first column of the Schedule in respect of the contestants and the vehicles attendant on the contestants in the Bermuda Bicycle Association Presidents Cup Bicycle Road Race.
4. The relevant roads or parts thereof specified in the second column of the Schedule are hereby declared to be subject, at the times specified in the third column of the Schedule, in respect of the contestants and the vehicles attendant on the contestants in the Bermuda Bicycle Association Presidents Cup Bicycle Road Race, to the speed limit specified in the first column thereof.
Presidents Cup Bicycle Road Race December 17th 2023 - 75 Kilometres Beginning at 7:30 am
Commencing at 60 Harbour Road, Paget and proceeding along Harbour Road to The Lane, left at the roundabout onto East Broadway, Front Street and Pitts Bay Road, then left onto St. John's Road.
Right on North Shore Road to Flatts and continue along North Shore Road to Blue Hole Hill, The Causeway, Kindley Field Road.
At the roundabout turn right onto St. David's Road. St. David's Road to Texas Road, turn right and then right onto Orange Hole Road, make the right turn onto Tommy Fox Road following this road until it becomes Southside Road, then make the right turn at the first roundabout onto Lower Gates Road and then a left onto St. David's Road. At the roundabout head west on Kindley Field Road, cross The Causeway and Blue Hole Hill to the roundabout.
Turn left on Wilkinson Avenue and continue along Harrington Sound Road then make the left onto Paynters Road. Turn right onto South Road and continue along South Road until the Collectors Hill intersection, the Trimingham Hill Road roundabout and the Paget traffic lights, staying on South Road, to the end of Barnes Corner.
Left on Middle Road, crossing Somerset Bridge and Somerset Road along Mangrove Bay Road, Malabar Road, Cockburn Road and Pender Road into Dockyard. Make a U turn in front of the Clocktower (around the bollard) and return on Pender Road, then Cockburn Road to Malabar Road, Mangrove Bay Road, Somerset Road and Middle Road, heading east. Stay on Middle Road, then turn left onto Burnt House Hill and then Harbour Road. Finish is in front of 60 Harbour Road, just west of the intersection with Chapel Road.
