The Bermuda Bicycle Association announced the athletes selected for this year’s Junior Caribbean Road Cycling Championships.
This year’s Bermuda Junior National Cycling team consists of Annabelle Miller, Charlotte Millington, Moses Johnson, Cameron Morris, and Thomas Quarterly. The team headed to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, ahead of the Regional Championships being held on Wednesday, November 23rd, and Thursday, November 24th, 2022.
Debbie Titterton Narraway, Bermuda Bicycling Association Executive Committee Member said, “Morris and Quarterly will look to better past performances at this championships, while Miller, Millington, and Johnson are making their debuts in this significant competition. Bermuda has an illustrious history at the Caribbean Cycling Championships, which have proven to be an essential stepping stone for Bermuda’s stars, including Dominique Mayho, Kaden Hopkins, and Nicholas Narraway.
We wish all riders a safe and successful event, for some, this may be achieving a podium finish; for others, it is about bettering past results or gaining experience outside of Bermuda so that they can continue to develop and set new cycling goals.”
Led by managers Dave Collins and Chequan Richardson, the 5-strong team will take on the best cyclists aged 15-18 in the Caribbean in the Individual Time Trial and Road Race.
The competition begins Wednesday with the Individual Time Trial, 10 kilometers for the Women and 20 kilometers for the Men. The next day the ladies will compete over a 60-kilometer course while the men will have a daunting 90 kilometers to tackle.
