Bermuda Cyclist Conor White, Liam Flannery, Zander Miller, Nicolas Narraway, and Dominque Mayho will be racing the XLIII Vuelta Ciclística Independencia Nacional (2022) in the República Dominicana. The seven-day stage race that runs over 1,100 kilometers will get underway on Monday, February 21st – Friday, February 27th, the event is expected to be a grueling test.
The round begins on Monday 21st with the Santo Domingo-San Cristóbal-Bani-Azua-Barahona route, with a route approximately 178 kilometers.
The second day will consist of the return Barahona-Santo Domingo, passing through Azua, Baní, and San Cristobal, with a distance of 179 kilometers.
On the third day, the cyclist will leave Santo Domingo, will arrive at San Pedro de Macorís, and return to Santo Domingo, finishing in the vicinity of Faro to Colón, with a distance of 156 kilometers.
The fourth day of racing will begin in Santo Domingo heading to Samaná passing with a 178-kilometer tour.
The fifth day of the race will be very exhausting with 216 kilometers traveling on the Samaná-Nagua-Río San Juan-Gaspar Hernandez-Sosúa-Puerto Plata stretch.
The sixth stage will be the festival for complete climbers or cyclists and will be crowned by the queen stage (the mountain) which will be Puerto Plata-Santiago-La Vega-La Virgen-Constanza, with a distance of 156 kilometers.
The seventh and final stage will be the triumphal circuit on Health Avenue (South Mirador) with nine accumulative laps at 90 kilometers.
