Kaden Hopkins continued competing in the Tour of Guadeloupe, as a guest rider for Dominican team Inteja.
Stage Three saw the competitors cover a distance of 145.5K, with Hopkins having mixed reactions to the day, Hopkins said, “This was one of my best ever days on the bike and the worst luck,” but he still was able to cross the line in a time of 3:31.03, which put him across the line in 15th place.
Hopkins was in a breakaway group that was eventually 6 riders for almost 100K when he had a mechanical issue. Hopkins changed bikes, which was not ideal of course. Then he got another mechanical and changed bikes back again.
Hopkins lost contact with the break but stayed ahead of the peloton.
Hopkins is now 15th overall with a combined time of 7:13.22, Hopkins fell from his 2nd place in the Youth Division to 4th place.
