With everyone still stunned by the news that former Danish cyclist Chris Anker Sørensen died after he collided with a vehicle during a ride in Belgium, where he was preparing to commentate on the International Cycling Union (UCI) Road World Championships, Bermuda riders Kaden Hopkins, and Conor White, began competing in the UCI Road World Championships Time Trial.
Starting in Knokke-Heit and finishing in Brugge along a completely flat course, the Bermuda pair competed in the 30.3 kilometer Individual Time Trial, Hopkins was the top Bermuda rider with a time of 37:21 to finish 48th overall, White finished 50th with a time of 37:36.
