Raphael Simons competed in the Nissan Trailseeker Mountain Bike Series on the Van Gaalen Cheese Farm in South Africa.
Simons would cover the 60km distance in a time of 3:45:58, his time saw him cross the line 218th overall.
Simons competing in the Men’s Veteran Division would be the 190th Male competitor to cross the line and he was 59th in the Division.
Following the race, Simons said, “Hands down the most brutal race I’ve ever done!”
“I’ve got mad respect for Mountain Bikers,” continued Simons, who went on to say, “The course was unbelievable, the climbing wasn’t manicured trails but big rocks and granite slate, while the downhills were the same, we also had to deal with the heat which at its hottest was 96°”.
