Over 90 riders teamed up with the Bermuda Paralympic Association as a fundraising cycling event saw participants ride from Dockyard to Ferry Reach Park.
The Annual event is to assist in raising funds for the island’s para-athletes
The cyclists were joined along the causeway by Paralympian Jessica Lewis, who was presented with a gift prior to the event in recognition of her Medal Winning performance at the Parapan Games, and also present at the start was Paralympian Yushae Desilva Andrade, one of the first Bermudians to compete in Boccia at the Paralympics alongside Steve Wilson.
At the conclusion Lewis said, “I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day today for the 3rd annual Pedal for Paralympics! Thank you to Ann, Chris and the Pedal for Paralympics committee for organizing another successful event. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped along the route to ensure the riders safety. We had a record of 91 riders and I can’t thank you all enough for the amazing support you give to the Bermuda Paralympic Association and our islands para-athletes.”
