Gabriela Arnold and her Marian University Cycling teammates began competing at USA Cycling's Collegiate Cyclocross National Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Collegiate Varsity race had a Sunday feel with several Elite and Under 23 podium hopefuls taking the line for their respective schools.
Sammi Runnels from Lindenwood University aced the exam and went to the head of the class with a time of 38.06 after a tough challenge from Arnold’s teammate Emma Swartz who was clocked at 38.18.
Hannah Arensman from Brevard College rounded out the podium in third with a time of 39.15, Arnold finished 20th in a field of 44 riders, one lap down.
