The 2021 Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships officially got underway with two events on Wednesday evening.
Madelyn Moore and her Northern Colorado University Swimming teammates were in a dead heat with Grand Canyon in the opening 200 Medley Relay.
The team of Moore, Chelaine van de Westhuizen, Katelyn Bergin and Saana Liikonen were neck and neck with Grand Canyon coming down the stretch.
Ultimately, Northern Colorado hit was the wall at 1:41.48, just .30 second behind Grand Canyon, but they clocked their fastest time of the year.
Moore set the tone for Northern Colorado with the fastest first leg start of 24.89.
