After being on the mid-major rankings for the first time in program history, Northern Colorado received Western Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week recognition.
Junior Madelyn Moore earned the weekly award after a strong performance at the Quad Dual Meet over the weekend.
UNC recorded 13 wins against Air Force, Colorado Mesa and Colorado School of Mines, including several from Moore.
The Bermuda native won the 100-yard Freestyle (50.14) and 50-yard Freestyle (23.00). Her 100 Freestyle time was a Program and Personal Best. According to the WAC, Moore’s times were also the fastest in the Conference this year.
Moore swam in the leadoff spot in all four relays, too, finishing first in 3-of-4 races. Her 50-yard leg of the 200-yard Relay clocked in at 22.77, just 1/100th of a second off the NCAA “B” cutoff time.
She is the first UNC swimmer or diver to earn the award this season.
