BASA Short Course Championships 2019

Overall Seven Records were broken during the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Associations 2019 Short Course Age Group Championships at the BASA Pool.

The 15-16 Girls 4x50 Medley Relay Record was broken by the team from Sharks Swim Club of Logan Watson-Brown, Jaedyn Judd, Skyler Powell and Gabriela Pitman, they clocked a time of 2:10.83 breaking the previous record of 2:12.58 that was set by Rebecca Sharpe, Lara Loescher, Eleanor Gardner and Nicole Yearwood back on March 17th 2007.

The Harbor Swim Club team of Brett Smith, Finn Moseley, Zebedee Wakeley and Caleb Ingham clocked a time of 1:52.99 during the 17-18 Boys 4x50 Medley Relay, which broke the record of 1:59.85 clocked by Jesse Washington, Keagan Woolley, Joshua Thorne and Lewis Sweeney on March 17th 2018.

In the Boys 15 & Over 200 SC Meter Backstroke Final, Jack Harvey had an amazing swim when he was clocked at 2:09.88, which broke Jason Mastalir’s time of 2:11.51 he set back on November 10th, 2007.

During the 15-16 Girls 4x100 Freestyle Relay the Record of 4:23.01 set by Nicole Yearwood, Rebecca Sharpe, Lara Loescher and Eleanor Gardner on February 24th 2007 was broken by the team from Sharks Swim Club of Logan Watson-Brown, Taylor White, Skyler Powell and Gabriela Pitman who clocked a time of 4:09.93.

The Sharks Swim Club swimmers Logan Watson-Brown, Jaedyn Judd, Skyler Powell and Gabriela Pitman broke the 15-16 Girls 4x50 Freestyle Relay Record when they were clocked in a time of 1:56.41, breaking the previous record of 2:03.77 that was set by Michelle Caza, Sophie Froud, Anna Harrington and Erin Haydon on March 19th 2011.

The 17-18 Boys 4x50 Freestyle Relay Record was also broken by the Harbor Swim Club team of Brett Smith, Finn Moseley, Zebedee Wakeley and Caleb Ingham as they clocked 1:42.55, breaking Kellan DeSilva, Christopher Wright, Conor Mullen and Nicholas Thomson previous record time of 1:48.45.

Jack Harvey continued his record setting weekend during the 100 Backstroke Final for 15-16 Boys. The previous record was held by Jason Mastalir who clocked 1:00.80 on December 1st 2007, as Harvey touched the wall in a time of 1:00.21.
