Washington & Moore Compete in Championships

Freshman Jesse Washington and his Southern Methodist University (SMU) Men's Swimming and Diving teammates are competing in the 2019 American Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships.

Washington would finish the Men’s 50 Yard Freestyle Preliminaries in 12th place to advance to the B – Final, in the in the Men’s 50 Yard Freestyle Consolation Final, Washington finished in 3rd place and 11th overall in a time of 20.81.

Washington would then finish 15th competing in the Men’s 200 Yard Freestyle Preliminaries touching the wall in a time of 1:39.61 to advance to the B – Final.

Washington would finish 8th in the B – Final clocking a time of 1:41.64 to see him finish 16th overall.


Madelyn Moore and her Northern Colorado Swimming and Diving teammates were back in action competing in the WAC Swimming Championships.

Competing in the Women’s 100 Yard Backstroke Preliminaries Moore would record the second fastest Qualifying time of 55.39 to advance to the A Final.

Moore would win her fourth medal of the Championships when she won the Silver Medal during the Women’s 100 Yard Backstroke A – Final touching the wall in a time of 54.68.
