Best of the Best #1 Swim Meet Round Up

The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association hosted the 1st Best of the Best Swim Meet at the BASA Pool, with nine confirmed records broken.

Marleigh Howes broke Elan Daley’s record in the Girls 8 & Under 200m Freestyle, she touched the wall in a time of 3:01.87 breaking the previous record of 3:02.15 set back on December 14th, 2013, in Ontario, Canada.

Sam Williamson clocked a record breaking time of 2:39.94 during the 11-12 Boys 200m Breaststroke breaking Keagan Woolley’s record of 2:47.18 set November 7th, 2015, during the HASC Winter Meet. Williamson next broke Ethan Daley’s record in the 11-12 Boys 100m IM, when he clocked 1:06.15, with the old record of 1:09.03 set back on May 24th, 2014 in Ontario, Canada.

Skyler Powell broke her own 13-14 Girls 800 SC Meter Freestyle record time when she touched the wall in a time of 9:38.45, breaking her own record of 9:44.02 set back on December 4th 2015 during the Winter Age Groups.

Rhys Insley broke the Boys 10 and Under 200m Breaststroke record when he was clocked at 3:22.99, going under Mitchell Gariépy’s time of 3:24.37 he set back on March 13th, 2010 at the BASA Pool.

The Relay team of Lucas Castree, Brandon Adkins, Jared Moore and Rhys Insley are now the 9-10 Boys 4x100m Freestyle Relay record holders following their time of 5:25.41, breaking

Jude Moseley, Myles Packwood, Yannick Hillier and Alex Pilgrim’s time of 5:32.00 set on March 3rd 2012 at the BASA Pool.

The 13-14 Girls 4x100m Freestyle record also fell as Skyler Powell, Abigail Powell, Gabriela Pitman and Logan Watson-Brown clocked 4:24.50, breaking Madelyn Moore, Brittany Siddle, Charlotte Faries and Shannon Hassell’s record time of 4:28.91 set back on February 1st, 2014 at the BASA Pool.

Brian Desmond, Neil Budge, Sam Williamson and Keagan Woolley are now the 13-14 Boys 4x100m Freestyle record holders with a time of 4:11.47, breaking the record of 4:23.50 set by Shannon Botelho, Keagan Woolley, Aaron Rego and Jesse Washington on February 23rd, 2013 at the Warwick Academy Pool.

A 15-16 Boys 4x100m Freestyle Relay record was established by Zebedee Wakely, Angus Betts, Yannick Hillier and Jude Moseley as they clocked a time of 4:16.12.
