Daniel Augustus would unfortunately miss the Cut in the 2021 Mayfair Inn Open Professional Golf Tournament, which is a USGA Tournament at the Mayfair Country Club in Sanford Florida.
Augustus would finish the tournament at 9-over par, this after a Second Round 1-over par.
On the opening day, Augustus struggled as he would end the day at 8-over par 80.
Augustus’ round consisted of a Birdie, 9 Pars and 8 Bogey’s.
Augustus had a much better Second Round, with 2 Birdies, 13 Pars and 3 Bogey’s.
Following his First Round, Augustus said, “I got the ball on the wrong side of the hole all day. Thinking I was playing safe but they put the pins in some really unpleasant areas and the greens are extremely fast.”
Augustus continued, “Usually when the green are that quick you can’t put the pin in areas they did. One guy in my group literally putted a ball off from 3 feet away from the cup.”
It was unfair at times but everyone had to play so I have to accept it. I really didn’t do much wrong but I don’t think I’ll play at this course again.”
After his Second Round Augustus said, “Today’s score was better, however the 3 Bogeys on the back 9 hurt, but I knew I had to go low to make the cut and I attacked a few flags I shouldn’t have. I was definitely Tournament rusty but glad the year has started and I’m looking forward to playing my next event.”
