Most if not all of these young ladies have been playing in the Senior ranks of the Bermuda Netball Association’s recently concluded 2015-16 League Season.

Going into the game Bermuda was up against a packed stadium of locals supporting their team. With Barbados being the Defending Champions they had a lot to prove and showed their desire from the start of play.

Bermuda seemed very uncomfortable with Barbados physicality and was unable to penetrate their defense causing several turnovers, with the host ending the 1st quarter with a 4 goal lead 8-4.

In the second quarter Bermuda picked up their intensity, but continued to be careless with their attacking possession, throwing away numerous passes into the circle and at the half time break Barbados had opened up an 11 goal lead at 20-9.

The third quarter saw Bermuda continue to pick up momentum, with their defensive unit holding down Barbados, the Bermuda team came up with several interceptions that they unfortunately couldn't capitalize on. This quarter was the lowest scoring for both teams with Barbados still outscoring them 5-3 to lead 25-12.

With it seeming to be difficult to claw back at this point Bermuda took the opportunity to play all their players allowing their starters a chance to rest up in preparation for tomorrow's match, as Barbados added 14 goals in the quarter and only allowing Bermuda to score once making the final score 39-13.

Kimale Evans Bermuda’s coach said, “Even though Bermuda suffered their first loss, their players returned to the hotel with high spirits!” Bermuda got 7 goals from Zekiah Lewis and 6 goals from Donnauri Robinson.
