Scott Barnes would have a dream come true competing in the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex Presented by MG Tires.
The event in the fourth edition of the organization’s Winter Series in South Florida, saw Barnes take to the track in the Mas Shifter by PSL Karting Class.
Barnes would win the Mas Shifter Class Final clocking a 22 lap time of 17:37.656, with Freddy Rhemmrev second the only other Kart to complete 22 laps clocked 17:40.861.
After warming up, Barnes would finish second in the class during the 5 lap Qualifier, Rhemrev clocked the fastest lap of 46.961, with Barnes recording a time of 47.087.
In the Pre-Final, the Karts raced 12 laps with Barnes finishing behind Rhemrev with a time of 9:34.176, with Rhemrev clocking a time of 9:32.959.
Following the race, Barnes said, “I’ve wanted one of these trophies for years!
So we planned to run the Super Karts USA Winter Tour this year to go and try to get one, and the first race I was able to bring home the 1st place.”
Barnes concluded, “This track is hard and very physical, this track beats you up, we weren’t the fastest kart all day but the final race was pure determination to get the win.”
