Competition Remains Tough for Bermuda Sailors in Spain

The Third Day finished and classifications closed with Sophia Dias, Trystan Hocking, Riley Lowe, and Cody Rans all back in action in Spain competing in the International Optimist Dinghy Association European Championships.

The day was a different day from the previous two, with strong east winds of about 17 knots and gusts of up to 25.

In the Girls Division, Dias moved up 7 places to finish the day in 86th, with 188 points, Dias finished the first race of the day and the fifth of the series in 31st, she would finish 37th in the second race.

Lowe came off the water in the 102nd place spot down 3 places with 233 points, this after she finished 49th in the first race, and then 41st in the second race.

In the Boy’s Division, Rans started the day in 138th, but he fell three places to 141st with 204 points, he crossed the line 37th in the first race of the day, before finishing 43rd in the second race of the day.

Hocking fell six spots to 149th, with 219 points, he finished the first race in 42nd, and then finished 48th in the second race of the day.
