A very busy day on the water today with 5 races held in all 3 Classes as the Bacardi Keelboat Regatta got underway in the Great Sound.
Wind started out at a brisk 14 – 16 kts from the north and had shifted to North North West and dropped to 8-10kts by the end of the day as the J105, International One Design (IOD) and Etchells classes were all on the water.
Day 2 of the Regatta was the first day of racing as Thursday’s racing was cancelled due to high winds making conditions in the Great Sound unsafe for the sailors and the boats.
There were a few minor breaks today in the IOD and J105 fleets and two collisions (1 in IOD Fleet and 1 in J105) that have to be decided in the Protest Room. At this time the Protest Committee is still hearing protests and results are provisional at time of writing.
At the end of Friday’s racing, provisional results show the following:
