A dramatic final race in the Boy's Laser Radial turned the fleet inside out in Gdynia, Poland as the Hempel Youth Sailing World Championships came to a close.
As it looked like Poland's Tytus Butowski and Australia's Zac Littlewood were poised to fight for the Gold, their mid-fleet match race opened the door for others to steal gold. Turkey's Yigit Yalcin Citak seized an opportunity and claimed a gold from almost nowhere.
Littlewood and Butowski ended up locked on 63 points with the Australian claimed silver having won two races across the nine race series. Butowski, a resident of Gdynia, settled for bronze but it could have easily been gold.
Campbell Patton finished 22nd in the Fleet overall with 180 points.
On the final day Patton finished the only race in 39th place.
