Bermuda Sailors Continue Optimist World Championships

A total of 257 young sailors from 65 participating nations including Bermuda continued competing in the 2019 Optimist World Championship in Antigua.

Richard Schultheis from Malta remains the leader after making it four wins in a row, Marco Gradoni from Italy is in second five points back with 9 points and Ian Walker March from South Africa is in third one point back, while the top girl is Spain’s Maria Perello in 16th with 30 points.

Sebastian Kempe continues leading the Bermuda Fleet, he moved up 9 places to come off the water in 9th place with 23 Points, this after finishing 6th in the First Race in the Blue Fleet and then crossed the line First in the Second Race of the day.

Christian Ebbin is holding down the 18th place spot after starting the day in 44th place with 36 points, he would finish 6th in the First Race in the Green Fleet and then he finished Third in the Second Race.

Magnus Ringsted started the day 60th, but came off the water in 86th place with 95 points, Laura Hupman is in the 101st position with 109 points and Nicole Stovell is in 178th place with 166 points.
