Four Bermuda sailors began competing in the 2019 Optimist European Championship in Crozon-Morgat, France.
A total of 292 sailors from 50 different nations, their coaches and team leaders including the Bermuda group took to the water.
PJ Rodrigues, Amelia Lewis Rachael Betscart, and Ava Rosser are flying the Bermuda Flag during the event.
In the Boy’s Division that has 176 sailors, Rodrigues is 147th after Two Races sailed, Rodrigues finished the first race 46th, and then finished 44th in the second race for his 90 points.
With 117 Girls on the water, Lewis is leading the Bermuda Fleet with 66 points, this after finishes of 32nd and 34th, Betschart is 103rd with 105 points, she finished the first race of the day in 47th, before finishing the second race in 58th.
Rosser is 109th with 109 points, she crossed the lien 49th in the first race, before recording a Did Not Finish in the second race.
