IslandStats.com
Emirates Team New Zealand came off the water in firm control, much to the disappointment of the Oracle Team USA crowd on Day Four of the 35th America's Cup Final on the Great Sound.

With a big buzz around following Oracle Team USA’s first win in six races in the Finals, Emirates Team New Zealand come off the water with a greater advantage they had going in and that's a five point lead, they lead 6 - 1.

In the opening race of the day and the 7th of the series saw, both teams off the start line cleanly & it was Emirates Team New Zealand who claimed the early lead over Oracle Team USA.

Into leg 3 of 7 and Emirates Team New Zealand had built a little lead of just under 300m ahead of Oracle Team USA.

Oracle Team USA had it all to do, they were trailing Emirates Team New Zealand by 40 seconds at the Gate 4 turn.

However excitement grew, following a poor manoeuvre by Emirates Team New Zealand allowed Oracle Team USA to close the gap in the lead up to Gate 6, but they just ran out of real estate as Emirates Team New Zealand reassert their authority over Oracle Team USA in Race 7 to go 5-1 up in the America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton.

Both boats were very close to each other in the pre-start of the second race of the day, and the judges ruled no penalty against Emirates Team New Zealand in the pre-start sequence and the Kiwis were clear to take off and claim a huge early lead to mark 1.

Despite the disastrous start, Oracle Team USA recovered strongly and found themselves only 100m behind Emirates Team New Zealand on leg 3 of 7.

However just as it has happened in other races disaster for Oracle Team USA who were handed a penalty for sailing through the boundary. They fell further behind Emirates Team New Zealand and all but handed them the race and one hand on the Trophy.
