In a dramatic turn of events Land Rover BAR Academy become the new Red Bull Youth America's Cup champions on the waters of the Great Sound.
In the final race of the day, NZL Sailing Team cruised to a third straight win, but they like the crowd had all eyes on Land Rover BAR Academy who were in fourth and if they had finished in that position would have handed the title to NZL Sailing Team.
This is when the drama unfolded, a crash at the final gate between SVG Team Germany and Switzerland's Team Tilt opened the door for Land Rover BAR Academy to sail by and finish second and claim the championships holding off the defending champions NZL Sailing Team.
Team Bermuda finished the first race of the day in 4th place, that was followed by a 7th place finish in the second race of the day and 5th overall, they would close out their competition with a 8th place finish in the final race to finish 8th overall with 33 points.
