David Bascome’s first season as the Head Coach of the Baltimore Blast came to an end in Mexico following their Quarter-Final loss to Chihuahua.
Bascome and the Blast went into the match leading the series 1 – 0, but they would fall in the game two 4 – 3.
The match was scoreless at the end of the first period before both teams scored a goal each in the second period for the match to go into the break level at 1 – 1.
Baltimore took the lead with a Power Play goal from Juan Pereira, but Roberto Escalante equalized for Chihuahua. Chihuahua had outshot the Baltimore Blast 24 – 4 in the first half.
Chihuahua had 13 shots in the third-period scoring twice, while shutting out the Baltimore Blast, Bryan Macias, and Carlos Hernandez scored a goal each for the home team.
Chihuahua would then take a 4 – 1 lead early in the fourth period with Hernandez scoring his second goal of the game, but the Baltimore Blast would not lay down as Vinicius Dantas and Jamie Thomas scored a goal each with the sixth attacker on the field, but they could not find the equalizer.
Chihuahua and the Baltimore Blast would then have a quick break before playing a 15 minute period game that saw Chihuahua emerge victorious 5 – 1.
They would get a hat-trick from Enrique Canez, while Hernandez and Macias added a goal each, the Baltimore Blast's lone goal came from Dantas.
