Nigel Pearson wants more productivity in front of goal from throughout his team after being questioned on Nahki Wells' disappointing goal return this season.
One of Bristol City's most enjoyable moments this season was Wells' last-gasp winner at Queens Park Rangers in September.
Almost four months on as the sides prepare to do battle again on Thursday, that remains the Bermudian's only goal for Bristol City this season.
Opportunities for the proven goalscorer in Nigel Pearson's side have been limited, not starting in any of City's past seven Championship games.
And there is a sense of an untapped source of goals from Wells, who has often been played out wide rather than as a central striker since joining from Burnley – coincidentally after a loan spell at QPR – two years ago.
But when asked how he could get more goal contributions from the 31-year-old, Pearson said his greater concern is increasing productivity throughout the team.
"Nahki’s not had many opportunities and that’s the bottom line," Pearson said. "Whether he gets one in this game, you’ll have to wait and see.
"But I have no qualms about playing Nahki. I think he’s been really positive around the place, we know he’s a good finisher.
"But what we need more than anything is a sound team performance against QPR and we need to be able to show that clinical touch at both ends of the pitch and that is something that let us down against Huddersfield. We scored two goals at home and ended up losing, so that was a frustrating day for us.
