It was a tough day at the office for Kenni Thompson and her London City Lionesses teammates, as they fell to a 2 - 0 defeat away to local rivals Charlton Athletic.
From the outset, it was clear that City was going to have a battle on their hands, with Charlton showing their attacking threat in the opening few minutes, with a long-range effort being sent towards goal.

An early goal from Adam Rooney added to by a brilliant solo goal from substitute Joe Sbarra was enough for Neal Ardley’s men to secure all three points, with debutant James Clarke also claiming an assist on his debut for the club.
