Bermuda's English Footballers Round-Up

Nahki Wells Celebrates Scoring
Nathan Trott

Nathan Trott was an unused substitute as his West Ham United teammates pushed Manchester City all the way, but were ultimately unable to prevent Pep Guardiola's men from registering a 20th straight win in all competitions.

West Ham United gave as good as they got at Etihad Stadium, and went in at the break level after Michail Antonio canceled out Rúben Dias’ 30th-minute header.

But John Stones found the space inside the box to net his side’s winner midway through the half to hand West Ham United a first defeat in five Premier League games.

Nahki Wells and his Bristol City teammates came from behind to defeat Swansea City 3 – 1 on the road.

After a goalless first half, Bristol City fell behind to an Andre Ayew penalty following a Kasey Palmer handball.

But Wells scored his second goal in as many games to draw City level before Palmer made up for his earlier error with a sublime goal direct from a corner.

City looked to have done enough to hold Swansea at bay, but substitute Antoine Semenyo added to the scoreline with his first league goal for Bristol City, as he closed down Freddie Woodman’s clearance and watched on as the ball looped back into the open net.

Down 1 – 0 Zak Vyner broke away from a challenge and pulled the ball back across goal to Wells who made no mistake with a perfectly hit first-time finish.

Justin Donawa started as he and his Solihull teammates drew 2 – 2 on the road against Boreham Wood.

Solihull took the lead within 90 seconds, a free-kick was headed back across goal and Alex Gudger was there at the back post to nod home. In the 40th minute, the score was level as Boreham Wood was awarded a penalty, with Kabongo Tshimanga converting his penalty kick.

In the 54th minute, Junior Morias gave the hosts the lead as he broke into some space and finished from just inside the box, but Solihull would find the equalizer six minutes later when Adam Rooney scored from the penalty spot after a foul in the box.

Jonte Smith and his Woking Football Club teammates have advanced to the FA Trophy Semi-Finals following their 1 – 0 Quarter-Final win over Torquay United.

The lone goal of the game came in the 37th minute through a Jamar Loza goal, Malachi Napa beat his man, before switching the play, the ball found Loza who beat his man, and finished at a tight angle.

Smith who started the match had a chance in the 59th minute when Loza played him in one-on-one, but Smith’s effort went over the bar.
