Wells-Nolan & Butterfield UK Updates

IslandStats.com
NAHKI WELLS

Nahki Wells returned to his former team with his Bristol City teammates and they turn the tide at the John Smith’s Stadium, with Jamie Paterson rifling home a later winner to overcome Huddersfield Town 2-1.

Bristol City had to come from behind to earn their first win since the start of October. Wells hit the crossbar but it was Josh Koroma who tucked the home side ahead just before half-time.

But a tactical shuffle helped Bristol City find a way back into the game under the Yorkshire lights, with substitute Antoine Semenyo assisting Jay Dasilva to score his first goal for the club.

Semenyo would then hit the post but Dasilva eventually went from scoring to assisting in the same attack, with his cross swept home by substitute Paterson inside the 83rd minute.

The win lifts City up to sixth in the Sky Bet Championship.

AALIYAH NOLAN

Aaliyah Nolan and her Leeds United Women teammates suffered defeat at the hands of Barnsley, as they progressed to the next round of the FA Cup following a 4-1 win at Oakwell.

MILAN BUTTERFIELD

Milan Butterfield and his Chesterfield teammate’s FA Cup tie against Stockport County will have to be replayed after the charge of a breach of FA Cup Rule 15(j)(i) was proven, in so much that Jordan Cropper played in the match with the club having not submitted a copy of the loan permission to The FA prior to the Registration Deadline in breach of Competition Rules.

The fourth round qualifying tie will be replayed on Wednesday without the involvement of Jordan Cropper.

Chief executive John Croot said: “It is unfortunate that a technical issue resulted in an administrative procedure not being completed.

“The FA panel considered our submission, ruled that the tie would have to be replayed and we have to accept their decision.”

You would recall the www.islandstats.com report back on October 24th, Butterfield would equalize for Chesterfield in the 86th minute when a header down in the box saw Butterfield poke the ball home.

The match would be decided from Kicks from the Penalty Mark, both teams would miss a penalty in the first of five sending it to sudden death, both teams scored their first two before Stockport missed their third, and Butterfield stepped up and scored sending Chesterfield through to Emirates FA Cup First Round.
