CONCACAF President Talks to Islandstats.com

CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani in an exclusive interview with www.islandstats.com said, “The World Cup Qualifying format for 2022 will have to change, but he is not sure at this time what it will look like.”

The far-reaching impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic are likely to reshape CONCACAF Qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

CONCACAF’s 2022 World Cup Preliminaries were supposed to kick off in September under a new format, whereby the region’s top six teams in the FIFA ranking advanced straight to the Hexagonal — eliminating the old 12-team semifinal round — while the remaining 29 sides entered a lengthy process to determine a survivor to play the fourth-place Hex finisher in a playoff.

Montagliani also congratulated the Bermuda Football Association on their new LOGO Launch.
