Thompson Starts in Espanyol's Draw at Valencia

IslandStats.com
Kenni Thompson followed up last week’s Primera debut off of the bench with a starting role for Espanyol away at Valencia.

Thompson played 93 of the 94 minutes in a 1-1 draw.

Her coach of the Espanyol first team has spoken highly of Thompson in an article posted on @futfempuntcat after her performances so far in the first team.

Coach Jordi Ferrón said, “Thompson has demonstrated that she is a safe bet for the future... and for the present.”

Ferrón goes on to says, “The best news of the last two games for Espanyol is the emergence of Kenni Thompson. The football player has only needed two games to gain ownership after making her debut with the first team against Deportivo in the previous match.”

"I was very clear she would be a starter, we let her know on Thursday. During her time against Deportivo she taught the team what the team needed,” said Ferrón. If she is like this in this match, it doesn't matter to me what the age is. Thompson has proven she is a safe bet for the future ... and the present."

The Bermuda born footballer has garnered all kinds of praise from her coach: "She is very clear about what she has to do, with good intentions, with great enthusiasm, with speed and work, quality with crosses.”
