Bermuda's England Footballers Round Up

Reggie Lambe

Nahki Wells and his Queens Park Rangers teammates decent run of form came to an end with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers in W12.

A first-half penalty from Danny Graham and a Bradley Dack goal just after half-time condemned Rangers to a loss in a match where they never really got going. Matt Smith pulled a late one back in injury time but Tony Mowbray’s side held on for the three points.

The defeat leaves Rangers in 17th place with three games of the season remaining and just one at Loftus Road.

Queens Park Rangers were forced into two changes for this Good Friday clash with Angel Rangel and Toni Leistner both missing out through injury and illness respectively.

Wells started on the bench and made his way onto the pitch in the 64th minute replacing Jordan Cousins, in the 79th minute a cross to the far post found Wells who’s volley was between the posts but over the crossbar.

Jonte Smith was once again not in the Oxford United team as his teammates produced another extraordinary home game that saw them defeat Charlton Athletic 2-1 in the most dramatic of fashions.

Trailing to a Lyle Taylor penalty, United roared back to lead through Curtis Nelson and Luke Garbutt. Young keeper Jack Stevens then became the hero with a superb save to keep that lead intact on his debut after Simon Eastwood had been sent off, swiftly followed by Charlton's Chris Solly, as both sides ended the game a man light.

Reggie Lambe and his Cambridge United teammates produced a much improved and resolute home performance picking up a point in a goalless draw against Swindon Town, which moved United onto the brink of League Two safety.
