West Indies Women defeated David Hemp’s Pakistan Women by 10 runs in the first match of the CG Insurance T20 International Series at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.
West Indies Women batted first and scored 136/6 off their 20 overs.
Hayley Matthews was the top scorer with 32, Deandra Dottin added 31, and Kyshona Knight scored 23, Nida Dar returned figures of 4-0-15-2 to lead the Pakistan Women’s bowling attack, while Fatima Sana bowled 4-0-32-2
In spite of a rear-guard resistance from Ayesha Naseem who scored 45 not out and Sana 24 not out, Pakistan reached 126/6 before balls ran out.
Barbadian Shamilia Connell was the pick of the West Indies Women’s bowlers with figures of 40-21-3, whole Aaliyah Alleyne bowled 4-1-23-2.
