BCB Release a 2020 Year in Review Document

IslandStats.com
On the day that the ICC release the Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifying schedules, the Executive of the Bermuda Cricket Board has released a digital 2020 Year in Review.

Presented at the Annual General Meeting on November 19, the 32-page report outlines the successes of the BCB during a challenging cricket season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Featuring remarks from Premier David Burt, new Minister of Youth, Culture & Sports Dr Ernest Peets, ICC Americas Regional Development Manager Fara Gorsi, and former BCB President Lloyd Smith.

The report speaks to the functionality of the T20 Domestic League season that was organized under regulations that were drafted by both the BCB administrative team and Executive and vetted by the Ministry of Health and National Security.

The documentation was submitted to the ICC Americas for distribution throughout the region as well as various domestic national sports governing bodies to aid in their ‘return to play’.

Although there was a late start to the 2020 cricket season, the BCB was able to facilitate the annual Howzat! Summer Cricket Camp sponsored by Argus and Chubb, as well as an Under 11 and Under 16 summer league, with partners Hiscox and KPMG — both hosted at Warwick Academy.

The BCB U19 Men’s National Team participated in the T20 First Division and Evening Cricket League competitions — training 3 times a week as preparation to represent Bermuda in the upcoming ICC Americas U19 Regional World Cup Qualifiers in 2021.

In addition, the BCB is pleased to announce the launch of a new website, www.cricketbermuda.com — going live on Friday, December 18th.

The new and improved platform will host BCB content including important information and documents for member clubs, electronic registration forms for programmes and leagues, photo and video content as well as an online merchandise store to be launched at a later date.

The BCB would like to thank all of our stakeholders for their continuous support of Bermuda Cricket.

Many of our achievements are based solely on our member clubs, staff, sponsors, partners, and fans.

We look forward to another successful season in 2021.
