Rawlins Answers Fans Questions
Sussex recently asked fans to send in their questions for Delray Rawlins.

Rawlins and Sussex shared some of his responses to the best questions.

Q. @rmjtrotter – Best player in the Sussex Premier League who hasn’t played first-class cricket?
A.
I’ll have to go for Rohit, who plays at Roffey. He always seems to get runs when we play against them and he always wins games for them.

Q. @stuart_lea40542 – What are your tips for staying fit and healthy during isolation?
A.
I would say use the space in your home wisely and obviously get out where you can – use your hour per day.

Q. @alexshaw9 – What’s the best thing about Finals Day?
A.
It would have to be the atmosphere and buzz around the ground – it’s second to none. It was the best experience I’ve ever had.

Q. @james.w.42 – what’s your favourite wicket of your career so far?
A.
I’ll have to say Michael Klinger in the Vitality Blast last year against Gloucestershire. It was nice to get a bowl in the T20 format and get a wicket.

Q. @garyknight60 – Do you see yourself specialising in one-day cricket or playing all formats?
A.
Definitely playing all formats, playing as much cricket as I can. I want to play red ball and white ball.

Q. @j_s3639 – Any tips for a young leg-spinner on the Sussex Pathway?
A.
Spin it hard! I wouldn’t be able to give you too much advice – guys like Will Beer would be better at that – but I’d just say spin it as hard as you can.

Q. @maxwebb_06 – Who inspired you to become a professional cricketer?
A.
I’d have to say my family, definitely – my mum, dad and sisters. Everyone around me.

Q. @_.chrishxffen – How was it playing for Bermuda in the T20 World Cup qualifiers last summer?
A.
It was fun, it was really enjoyable. We got to play against some good teams, and results didn’t always go our way, but I really enjoyed my time back with the boys.

Q. @monty.sw – Who is the best joker in the squad?
A.
I’ll have to go Phil Salt again, as annoying as he is.

Q. @joedelaney34 – Would you play for England if you got the call-up?
A.
Most definitely. It would be a dream come true really. For now though, I’m just looking forward to working hard at Sussex and I think those sort of things will then take care of themselves.

Q. @samhilton8081 – Favourite shot to play?
A.
I’ll have to go with the straight drive – if you’re playing that shot you’re in pretty good nick! It’s nice to see it come off the bat like that.

Q. @ahmed.khan48 – Who is your cricketing idol?
A.
I’ll have to go with Brian Lara. Just an unreal batsman.

Q. @jamie_sdc_18 – What’s your favourite T20 performance as a team and individually?
A.
As a team, Glamorgan in 2018. To finish a game like that, with T getting a hat-trick – it was unbelievable. Individually, probably the last game against Gloucester when I managed to get a few runs, get a bowl and get a few wickets as well.

Q. @_loveamh – What made you pick cricket over football?
A.
I just grew a love for cricket more than football, and when I was younger, the Bermuda age groups used to travel a lot. I really enjoyed that and decided to peruse cricket from there.

Q. @alexjames_forrest – What’s the worst thing you can tell us about Jofra Archer!?
A.
As you see, he plays a lot of games, but he doesn’t post any FIFA videos – that’s because he’s terrible at FIFA. Every time we play, I end up beating him.
