Friends and family of the late Anthony Edwards along with Somerset Cricket Club officials all gathered at the Devonshire Recreation Club to award Malachi Jones the Anthony “Pacer” Edwards Best Somerset Cricket Club Fast Bowler Award for Cup Match.
The late Edwards was a Somerset Cricket Club Cup Match player who played in the Classic from 1982 – 1991, he finished with overall figures of 158.4 overs, 29 maidens, he gave up 505 runs taking 29 wickets along the way.
Jones returned overall Cup Match figures at the Wellington Oval of 18 overs, 5 maidens, he gave up a total of 48 runs and took 4 wickets.
Ironically he and Kamau Leverock took the same amount of wickets, but Leverock gave up 53 runs.
