We asked Tom Evans, the International Cricket Council Americas High Performance Consultant when the contracts for the ICC Americas players that took part in the Training Camp in Barbados will be offered.
Evans said, “6 players will be assigned to a franchise each and attend a Pre-Tournament Camp in June 2015 alongside 4 West Indies Under 19’s, then 1 of those 5 will be chosen for the Final contract position.
We will work with the 6 to have them best placed to capitalize on the opportunity in the lead up to June.
Will obtain selection feedback on the 6 players from WICB High Performance Centre Coach and CCC Coach and make selection in January – likely not until late January.”
