Dill’s Double Inspires North Village Comeback
|
FC Bascome 1 North Village Rams 3
North Village Rams showed immense character at Bernard Park, overturning a second-half deficit to secure a clinical 3-1 victory over FC Bascome in the Bermuda Football Association’s Under-23 Division.
The result marks a significant milestone for the Rams, who have now secured their second win of the tournament following a resilient display under the lights.
Following a cagey and scoreless opening 45 minutes, the match finally burst into life midway through the second half. It was FC Bascome who drew first blood in the 66th minute, though the breakthrough came via a stroke of misfortune as an own goal put them 1-0 ahead.
The setback appeared to galvanize the North Village side, who responded with a relentless offensive surge. Z’Dao Dill proved to be the catalyst for the comeback, finding the equalizer in the 73rd minute to bring the Rams level at 1-1.
With the momentum firmly in their favor, the Rams continued to press high. Their persistence was rewarded in the 78th minute when Ne-Jai Tucker showcased his clinical edge, firing North Village into a 2-1 lead.
As the clock ticked toward full-time, FC Bascome pushed for a late leveler, but they were caught out in the final moments. Dill made sure of the result in the 90th minute, notching his second goal of the match to put the game beyond reach.

Zebras Edge Robin Hood as Colts Hold Hornets
|
A low-scoring but high-intensity Under-23 double-header at Bernard Park saw the PHC Zebras announce their arrival in the competition, while a resilient Devonshire Colts earned a hard-fought point against the Dandy Town Hornets.
PHC 2 Robin Hood 1
The opening encounter of the evening saw the PHC Zebras kick off their campaign with a clinical 2–1 victory over Robin Hood. Having sat out the opening week with a bye, the Zebras showed no signs of rust, asserting their dominance early in the first half.
The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Yeshai Burgess found the back of the net to give PHC the lead. The Zebras didn't wait long to consolidate their advantage; just six minutes later, Hayden Dill doubled the tally, leaving Robin Hood with a mountain to climb at the interval.
Robin Hood, who "won" their opening fixture last week via a forfeit without taking to the pitch, struggled to find their rhythm against a disciplined Zebras backline. They did manage to set up a grandstand finish when Sebastian Davis pulled a goal back in the 83rd minute, but the PHC defense held firm to secure all three points.
Devonshire Colts 0 Dandy Town Hornets 0
In the nightcap, the Devonshire Colts produced a vastly improved performance to hold the Dandy Town Hornets to a 0–0 stalemate. It was a vital result for the Colts, who were looking to restore pride following a bruising 6–0 defeat to North Village in their competition opener.
The Hornets arrived at Bernard Park searching for a second consecutive win after their narrow 1–0 victory over Somerset Eagles last week. However, they found a different Devonshire side this time around. While the Colts have now gone 180 minutes without scoring a goal in the tournament, their defensive unit put in a monumental shift to frustrate the Dandy Town front line.
The draw leaves the Hornets undefeated but likely frustrated at the missed opportunity to go top, while the Colts will take immense confidence from a clean sheet against one of the league's most potent attacking sides.

East Victorious as Future Stars Shine in All-Star Clash
|
East All-Stars 3 West All-Stars 1
The East secured bragging rights at Bernard Park with a clinical 3-1 victory over the West in the Bermuda School Sports Federation (BSSF) Middle School Boys All-Star game.
In a showcase of the island's premier youth talent, the East established their dominance early through a well-organized attacking display. The goals were spread across three different schools, highlighting the depth of talent currently developing in the eastern parishes.
Cyme Dowling, representing Francis Patton Primary, set the tone for the East, while Whitney Institute's Remi Furbert and Somersfield Academy’s Cairo Burgess also found the back of the net to put the game out of reach.
The West refused to go down without a fight, with Kyron Bryon of Sandys Secondary Middle School pulling a goal back to provide a glimmer of hope, but the East defensive line held firm under late pressure.
While the goalscorers grabbed the headlines, the game was ultimately decided by two individual masterclasses at either end of the pitch.
Jasper Herrick (Warwick Academy): The West goalkeeper was in inspired form, producing a string of world-class saves to keep his side in the contest and earning the MVP award for the West.
Remi Furbert (Whitney Institute): Following his goal-scoring contribution and tireless work rate in the midfield, Furbert was the unanimous choice for the East's MVP.
The BSSF All-Star series continues to serve as a vital stepping stone for Bermuda’s emerging footballers. With several players already featuring in junior national team discussions, the high technical standard on display at Bernard Park suggests a bright future for the domestic game.
The victory for the Middle School boys adds to a successful period for the East, following similar triumphs in the primary and middle school girls' divisions earlier this spring.

McNeil the Difference as Trojans Edge Season Opener
|
Somerset Trojans 1 Boulevard Blazers 0
Somerset Trojans Under-23s got their campaign off to a winning start at Bernard Park, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Boulevard Blazers.
In what was a classic opening-day encounter defined by defensive discipline and high energy, both sides struggled to find a clinical edge during a goalless first period. The Boulevard Blazers proved difficult to break down, frustrating a Somerset side that enjoyed the lions' share of possession but lacked the final ball to test the keeper.
The deadlock was finally broken just two minutes into the second half. Following a quick transitional move, Kimani McNeil found himself in space to fire home in the 47th minute. It was a goal that combined sharp movement with a cool finish, giving the Trojans the lead they had been searching for.
Despite late pressure from the Blazers as they pushed for an equalizer, the Somerset backline remained resolute. The Trojans managed the final stages of the match with veteran-like composure to ensure McNeil’s strike was enough to bag all three points.
The result brings a close to the first week of the Under-23 season, with Somerset immediately establishing themselves in the upper echelons of the early standings.
For the Blazers, there will be plenty of positives to take from a resilient defensive display, but they will head back to the training ground looking to sharpen an attack that remained largely subdued throughout the ninety minutes. Somerset, meanwhile, move into week two with the momentum of a clean sheet and a vital away win.

Rock Valley Secure Bermudian Prospect Tajahri Rogers
|
Rock Valley College has announced a major addition to its soccer programme with the signing of Bermudian youth international Tajahri Rogers.
Rogers arrives in the United States with a burgeoning reputation as one of Bermuda’s most versatile young talents. A former captain at CedarBridge Academy, Rogers has balanced his footballing development with high-level track performances, notably claiming a senior boys title in the Butterfield Mile.
His footballing pedigree was further highlighted recently during a guest stint for CedarBridge in the prestigious Dallas Cup, following a period spent honing his technical skills in the United Kingdom with Racing Club Warwick.
Based in Rockford, Illinois, Rock Valley College serves as a central athletic hub for student-athletes in the Midwest. Located roughly 80 miles northwest of Chicago, the college's 217-acre campus provides a sprawling professional backdrop for the Golden Eagles' athletic endeavours.
The Men's Soccer programme competes within the NJCAA Division II. This placement allows the squad to contest national honours against premier community colleges across the United States.
Regionally, the Golden Eagles are members of NJCAA Region 4 and compete within the North Central Community College Conference (N4C), maintaining a fierce rivalry with local programmes such as Madison College and the College of DuPage.
While many collegiate programmes operate under the NCAA banner, Rock Valley is strictly an NJCAA institution. As a public community college, it offers a vital competitive platform for international recruits like Rogers to bridge the gap between youth football and four-year NCAA or NAIA universities.
With the 2026 season on the horizon, Rogers joins a programme known for its tactical discipline as he looks to establish himself in the American collegiate system.
