Phoenix Flames & Storm Surge Secure Netball Victories

The Bermuda Netball League delivered a thrilling round of senior action at Bernard Park, highlighted by high-scoring displays and standout individual performances across the divisions.

In the First Division, the Phoenix Flames maintained their formidable form with a clinical 54 - 20 victory over the Hamilton Parish Sports Program.

Kammie Mills spearheaded the Flames offensive effort by sinking an impressive 42 goals. She was supported by A'meerah Richardson-Swan with six goals, Jaya Dillas with five, and Shiloh Simmons with a single point. Mills was recognized as the best attacker for her precision in the circle, while Jaya Dillas earned the best defender accolade. Kree Holdipp was named the match most valuable player for the Flames.

Hamilton Parish saw Letifah Smith lead their scoring with 17 goals, earning the best attacker title for her side, while Kayla Burgess added three. Kyesja Hypolite was the standout defender for Parish, and Vashti Smith took home the most valuable player honors.

Premier Division action saw the Tigers overcome the North Village Lady Rams with a decisive 37 - 25 win.

Jahkenya Trott was the catalyst for the Tigers as she netted 24 goals, while Jahtuere Trott contributed 13. Kaylee Lema was named the best attacker for the victors, with Khianda Pearman-Watson securing the best defender award and Jordyn Ming recognized as the most valuable player.

For the Lady Rams, Darrika Simons led the scoring with 13 goals, followed by Jordyn Morris with eight and Coriah Simmons with four. Camryn Swan was the Lady Rams most effective attacker, Jada Richards anchored the defense, and Taahira Butterfield was named the match most valuable player.

In another high-octane Premier Division clash, Storm Surge defeated St. George’s Cricket Club 39 - 23.

Kaamilah Nasir led the Surge with 15 goals, while Rhianna Reddicks followed closely with 14. Selah Tuzo and Sonja Townsend each netted four goals, and Debre Evans added two to the tally. Tuzo was honored as the best attacker, Inshan-Nae Smith was named the best defender, and Debre Evans secured the most valuable player prize.

St. George’s effort was paced by Nisaiah Berkeley with 17 goals and Stacy-Ann Brown with six. Brown also earned the best attacker title for her team, while Sarafina Woolridge-Burns was recognized as both the best defender and the match most valuable player.

West Take Middle School Title & Red’s Dominate Senior Match

Middle School: Late Surge Secures Win for the West

The West team claimed victory in the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Middle School Netball All-Star game, pulling away with a late surge at the Berkeley Institute Gymnasium.

The turning point came in the second half, led by Saltus Grammar's Zara Bule, who scored four of her five goals in the second half to guide the West to a narrow 7-5 win. The West's other goals were scored by Warwick Academy's Quin Burgess and MSA's Rita Robinson.

For the East team, Cali Greenidge from Somersfield Academy led the scoring with four goals, while Whitney's Cataliah Pitcher-Place contributed a single goal.

The match MVPs were named as Kse Jennings from Dellwood Middle School and Kenzie McCrary from Saltus Grammar.

Senior Match: Red Team Runaway Winners

In the Senior School Netball All-Star match, the Red Team proved to be the runaway winners.

The victory was powered by the phenomenal shooting of Sioma Rudo from The Berkeley Institute, who had the 'hot hand' and scored a massive 22 goals for the victors. She was supported by BHS shooter Cailia Joell, who added nine goals, Saltus Grammar's Jaya Dillas with six, and Berkeley's Sanaa Grant with three.

The Blue Team effort was led by Naomi Crofton from Somersfield Academy, who scored eight goals. Warwick Academy's Kiyana Minors and Amariah Brangman-Johnson from CedarBridge Academy each contributed three goals.

Evie Hook from Saltus and Jaya Postlethwaite from Warwick Academy were named the match MVPs for the Senior game.

BSSF Netball All-Star Teams Announced

The Bermuda School Sports Federations Netball All Star Matches will be held Friday, December 12th at the Berkeley Institute Gymnasium starting at 6:00 with the Middle School Game. The Senior School game will follow at 7:00 pm

The Middle School game will see the West team featuring Warwick Academy, Saltus Grammar School, Mount Saint Agnes Academy and Sandys Secondary Middle School. They will be coached by Warwick Academy teacher Samantha Burrows. The East team will be coached by Somersfield Academy coach Emma Moran-Lee and national team player Debre Evans. They will consist of Middle School Champions Somersfield Academy, Dellwood Middle School, The Whitney Institute and Bermuda High School.

The Senior school tournament will see the Red team square off against the Blue team. The Red team will feature Senior School Champions The Berkeley Institute alongside Saltus Grammar School and Bermuda High School They will be coached by national team player Kiante Lightbourne. The Blue team will see runners up Somersfield Academy partner with Warwick Academy and CedarBridge Academy. They will also be coached by Mr. Burrows from Warwick Academy

Atlantic Aces Edge Storm Nexgen in Close Netball Contest

Atlantic Aces secured a narrow victory over Storm Nexgen in a tightly fought Netball Bermuda First Division match at Bernard Park, prevailing 39-34 after a competitive four quarters.

The Atlantic Aces' scoring efforts were effectively split between their attacking duo, with Charlotte Evans netting 20 goals and Jasmine Mapp adding 19 goals to secure the win for the Aces.

The team’s win was underpinned by strong individual performances across the court. Charlotte Evans was recognized as the best performer in attack, while Olivia Bugg stood out in defence. The Atlantic Aces' Most Valuable Player award went to Sinae Symonds.

Storm Nexgen were led in scoring by J'zari Zuill-Dillas with 19 goals, supported by Jamir Hatherley who scored 14 goals, and Malaysia Furbert adding 1 goal. Despite the loss, Storm Nexgen saw strong individual showings, with Jamir Hatherley named their best attacker and Journee Belboda their best defender. The MVP award for Storm Nexgen was claimed by Vongai Benza.
