Bermuda sprint sensation Miles Outerbridge has cemented his place among North America’s elite track talents after being ranked as the eighth fastest US high school sprinter of 2026 while attending Montverde Academy.
The recognition comes on the heels of the newly published national top-10 list, honouring a stellar campaign highlighted by Outerbridge’s blistering gold-medal run in the Boys Under-20 100-metre final at the CARIFTA Games in Grenada.
Outerbridge stormed across the line in 10.21 seconds, a performance that not only claimed regional gold but also rewrote the Bermudian history books.
The time decisively shattered Bermuda's long-standing national record of 10.27 seconds, which had been held for three decades by Olympian DeVon Bean since 1996.
Bean, now serving as director of athletics for the Bermuda National Athletics Association, was on hand to witness his 30-year standard fall to the rising star.
Outerbridge's inclusion in the prestigious US high school top 10 crowns a breakthrough year on the track, confirming his status as one of the Caribbean and North American circuit's most formidable emerging sprint prospects.
