The transition from player to match official takes centre stage this evening as Referee Corner: Excellence in Action returns with a live broadcast on Islandstats.com.
Airing live at 5:30 pm, the episode focuses on former competitors who have hung up their boots to take up the referee’s whistle, exploring the growing pathway for seasoned athletes to remain in the game.
The panel will examine how players' instinctive tactical understanding, positional awareness, and communication skills translate into modern officiating.
Produced in ongoing collaboration with local football governance, the show continues its mission to demystify match control, highlight referee recruitment initiatives, and demonstrate how former players can accelerate their development through the refereeing ranks from grassroots fixtures to elite competition.
