Bermudian prospect Xyior Basden and his Perkiomen School team-mates saw their postseason campaign come to an end following a 2-0 defeat to Shipley School in the Friends Schools League semi-finals.
Playing at the Shipley School Field on Montgomery Avenue, the Panthers pushed hard to unlock a stubborn home backline, but the hosts proved clinical in front of goal to punch their ticket to the championship decider.
Shipley dictated the tempo during crucial stretches of the contest, executing sharp counter-attacks to seize control and deny Perkiomen a foothold in the final third.
Despite an industrious showing from Basden in midfield to generate forward momentum, the Panthers were unable to find the decisive finishing touch against a resolute Shipley defence that held firm to preserve the clean sheet.
The defeat concludes a competitive league campaign for Basden and the Panthers, while Shipley advance to contest the FSL trophy.
