Saltus Grammar School were crowned Bermuda School Sports Federation (BSSF) Middle School Girls Six-A-Side champions after edging past The Whitney Institute 1-0 in a tense final at the National Sports Centre.
On a day of disciplined defensive play at the NSC South Field, a moment of individual brilliance proved the difference in a tightly contested showpiece.
With both backlines resolute and clear-cut opportunities at a premium, Kiera Broadley-Samuels unlocked the stalemate. The Saltus forward cleverly jinked past the last defender before coolly slipping the ball past the advancing Whitney goalkeeper to seal the silverware.
Both finalists had earlier navigated demanding semi-final clashes with clean sheets:
Saltus 2-0 Bermuda High School: Saltus punched their ticket to the decider with a clinical performance against BHS, with Broadley-Samuels and Kiana Simmons both getting on the scoresheet.
Whitney Institute 2-0 Warwick Academy: Whitney secured their place in the final four showdown by sweeping past Warwick Academy, courtesy of well-taken strikes from Cush Belboda and Amira Whitter.
While Whitney pushed hard to find a response in the closing stages of the final, Saltus held their nerve to see out the contest and lift the BSSF crown.
