Bermuda’s martial artists enjoyed a glittering campaign in Argentina, mounting a sensational medal haul across the 5th Pan American Kung Fu Championships and the 15th Pan American Wushu Championships.
Led by a blend of seasoned veterans and sharp individual talent, the island’s contingent claimed a sweep of gold, silver, and bronze honours across multiple disciplines and age brackets.
The standout performance belonged to the duo of Kaelin Cox and Garon Wilkinson, who joined forces to devastating effect in the Two-Person Fighting Set, executing a flawless routine to secure a well-deserved gold medal.
Cox added to his personal haul with an individual masterclass in the Group D (18–39) Spear division, battling through a competitive field to touch the podium with a silver medal.
Individual gold also went to Jashae Allen-LaMontagne, who dominated the Group D (18–39) Other Northern Style Form. Delivering crisp precision and power, Allen-LaMontagne outclassed the field to finish at the very top of the standings.
In the senior ranks, Wilkinson capped a tireless display in Group E (40–59) by picking up a bronze in the Flexible Weapon category to go alongside his team gold.
The medal table was rounded off by Jecoa Burrows, who showcased exceptional poise in the Group E (40–59) Other Northern Style Form, claiming a hard-earned bronze medal.
The results cap an emphatic statement on the continental stage for Bermuda, reaffirming the island's burgeoning reputation in elite Pan American martial arts competition.
