Bermudian golfer Daniel Augustus mounted a resilient second-round fightback to climb the leaderboard at the Clutch Pro Tour Tier 2 Championship at Clandon Regis Golf Club.
The Ocean View professional endured a punishing opening 18 holes in Surrey, carding an 11-over-par 83 that left him tied for 70th and facing an uphill battle heading into the final round.
However, Augustus demonstrated significant resolve on day two, shaving ten strokes off his previous score with a disciplined one-over-par 73.
The turnaround saw the Bermudian pick up three birdies and 11 pars, offset by just four bogeys, as he navigated the Surrey parkland layout in far more assured fashion.
The second-round rally proved enough to lift Augustus 14 places up the standings, securing a share of 56th position to conclude a testing week on the UK developmental circuit.
