Darina Betschart and Lewis MacFarlane produced a dominant final-round display to capture the Bermuda Mixed Foursomes Championship crown at Turtle Hill Golf Course.
The duo, who shared the lead after the opening round, pulled clear of the chasing pack on the closing 18 holes to finish with a commanding 12-under-par total of 96, claiming victory by eight clear shots.
Betschart and MacFarlane entered the final stretch tied at the top with Tracy Burgess and Richard Marriott after both pairings carded sparkling five-under-par rounds of 49 on the opening test.
While Burgess and Marriott stumbled with a one-over-par 55 to conclude their tournament at four-under 104, Betschart and MacFarlane turned on the style. A scorching seven-under-par 47 saw them run away with the championship silverware in emphatic fashion.
Burgess and Marriott had to settle for a share of second place alongside Ann Symonds and Walter Jackson, who mounted a fine charge from fourth place at the turn. Symonds and Jackson shaved two strokes off their opening 53 to post a three-under-par 51, matching the runners-up on 104.
Katrin Burnie and Roderick Forrest kept themselves in the mix throughout, signing for rounds of 52 and 53 to secure fourth place on three under par, just one shot behind the podium places. James Godwin and Linda Down completed the top five in the championship flight at one over par after back-to-back rounds of 54 and 55.
In the First Flight, Brent Giannone and Jaime Giannone led from start to finish to seal a comfortable seven-stroke victory.
Giannone and Giannone took early control with a six-over-par 60 at the halfway stage, establishing a four-stroke cushion over their nearest challengers. Despite a three-over 57 on the final round, their overall tally of 9-over-par 117 proved more than enough to secure the division honours.
Darrin Lewis and Kimberly Lewis claimed second place on 14-over par, recovering well from an opening 64 with a four-over 58 to post 122. Richard Hazelwood and Sarah Eggen rounded out the field in third position, carding 72 and 69 for a total of 141.
