In a tightly contested Atlantic Coast Conference encounter, the Orange weathered substantial pressure before executing the decisive blow midway through the second half to move their season record to 7-3-0.
The breakthrough arrived in the 71st minute from a set-piece routine. Following a well-worked sequence initiated by a corner kick, Ming combined with Chimere Omeze to tee up Ivan Irinimbabazi, who clinically buried what proved to be the match-winning effort.
Notre Dame pushed aggressively for an equaliser in the closing 20 minutes, finishing the contest with a 4-1 advantage in shots on target.
However, Syracuse’s backline held firm. Goalkeeper Juan Martinez-Bastidas made a crucial stop to preserve the clean sheet, shutting down the Irish attack to secure a signature road victory.
