Greg Wade and crew Geno Smith celebrated a breakthrough milestone on the water, clinching their maiden regatta victory in the Lawrence 'Stickers' Hendrickson Memorial after a tense tie-break off the Mid Atlantic Sailboat Club.
Wade and Smith edged out Alan and Laila Frith on countback after both crews concluded a closely contested four-race series locked on six net points.
Conditions on the North Shore demanded tactical precision, and Wade established an early advantage by claiming two race victories alongside a fourth-place finish. Discarding a fifth-place result under the regatta's single-throwout rules, Wade and Smith closed on six net points.
The Friths mounted a formidable challenge with a remarkably consistent series, stringing together a race win, a second, and two third-place finishes. They also netted six points after discarding one of their thirds, but Wade's two individual victories proved decisive in settling the countback for the title.
Dale Brangman and his mixed crew of Daylon and Faya Brangman took the final spot on the podium in third. Brangman logged a race win alongside third, fourth, and fifth-place finishes to finish just two points adrift on eight net points.
