Avid speedgolfer Chris Parry has claimed a stunning third-place overall finish at the 2026 British Speedgolf Championship, exceeding all expectations and prompting plans to introduce the fast-paced discipline to Bermuda.
Competing against an elite international field, Parry produced a standout display over the weekend, outlasting several touring professionals and former world champions to secure a podium spot in the flagship event.
Speedgolf combines traditional stroke play with running, scoring competitors on an aggregate calculated by adding total shots taken to the minutes elapsed on the course.
Riding the wave of his breakthrough performance on British soil, Parry now has his sights firmly set on bringing the sport home to the island.
"It has really spurred me on to hold an event in Bermuda now," Parry said. "Ideally, the aim is to attract talent from across the international Speedgolf community."
The proposed showcase would mark the official introduction of Speedgolf to the local sporting calendar, offering Bermudian athletes a novel endurance test while positioning the island as a future destination on the global circuit.
