Shantia Berkeley and her Durham College team-mates opened their home campaign in emphatic style, sweeping aside the Loyalist Lancers 6-0 at Vaso’s Field.
The Lords seized control from the outset, penning the visitors back with relentless attacking waves before Skylar Brown broke the deadlock in the 19th minute, latching onto a well-timed feed from Alexis Bayley to tuck away the opener.
Durham doubled their advantage ten minutes before the interval when Andreae clinical finished from a Julia Fontana delivery, ensuring the hosts took a commanding 2-0 cushion into the break following a half in which they outshot the Lancers 16-1.
Any hopes of a Loyalist fightback were extinguished inside the opening 15 minutes of the second half. Daelynn Tulloch made it 3-0 in the 52nd minute courtesy of an Erin Michalicka assist, before Jaime Pye struck six minutes later after neat build-up play from Emme Gjezo.
Andreae then took centre stage to complete a second-half hat-trick. She notched her second of the contest in the 64th minute—capitalising on Bayley’s second assist of the day—before calmly converting from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute to cap a ruthless individual and team performance.
With Berkeley helping anchor a backline that conceded just a solitary attempt across the entire 90 minutes, Durham finished the match with 33 shots, 23 of which hit the target, sealing a comprehensive victory to kick off their home schedule.
