Bermuda international Nathan Trott has been ranked 21st among the Championship’s top goalkeepers as Football League World assessed the finest talents between the sticks in the English second tier.
The Championship boasts an exceptionally deep roster of shot-stoppers this season, featuring established former Premier League campaigners, emerging domestic prospects, and frontline internationals.
Trott, 27, earned his place in the assessment following a varied continental apprenticeship. Having initially come through the academy ranks at West Ham United, the Bermudian gained senior European experience through loan spells in France with Nancy and in Denmark with Vejle, before sealing a high-profile move to Danish heavyweights FC Copenhagen.
He subsequently headed to the Welsh capital on loan, quickly establishing himself as Brian Barry-Murphy’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper during Cardiff City's promotion push.
Trott served as a reassuring presence during that campaign, playing an instrumental role in guiding the Bluebirds back up into the Championship.
With the step up in quality and relentless scheduling of the second tier now firmly in view, scrutiny will inevitably sharpen on whether Trott can translate that momentum into cementing a long-term starting berth at Championship level.
